Hearing loss can occur so gradually that many people are entirely unaware of it. Though you may still hear many of the sounds you are accustomed to, they may gradually become more faint. You may find yourself leaning closer to someone who is speaking, or straining to understand their words. It may not be until someone else points it out to you that you even realize that you have some hearing loss.
| We would advise you to see a hearing healthcare professional if you experience the following signs:
- Your family complains that the TV or radio is too loud.
- You can hear people speaking to you, but you find it difficult to understand what they are saying.
- People sound like they are mumbling.
- You find it difficult to follow a conversation in a group or somewhere with background noise.
- You find it more difficult to hear someone on the other end of a telephone.
- You have a history of noise exposure to such things a power tools, loud music, motorcycles, or a noisy work environment.
