What your Neighbor is saying about us: For several years I had been having difficulty understanding speech during conversations in crowded environments with significant background noise. Restaurants, banquet halls, sporting events, were all sources of embarrassment and frustration as I futilely attempted to participate in and be part of these and other social gatherings. Newspaper ads and mailers about the latest technology advancements in hearing assistance devices were intriguing but, generally, I dismissed and discarded them. Then one day in early September 2007, I received an invitation to one of your free seminars. Again, I was about to dispose of it when I noticed that the focus of the seminar was on hearing loss associated with tinnitus, the condition from which I suffer. I decided, why not; it’s now or never. Attendance at this seminar is one of the better decisions I have made in some time. Dr. Nathan Bauman introduced us to his creation, a hearing device called the Vivatone. I have since purchased the Vivatone from Swift Audiology. The Vivatone is virtually invisible, comfortable, and, quite simply, delivers the goods. The model I purchased has 4 separate settings, each designed for specific environmental conditions. To change from one setting to another requires the mere pressing of a button and, it’s done. I can now attend large and small social events and participate in conversations that I actually understand with out hand-cupping my good ear or straining to stare at the person’s lips. And, from an appearance viewpoint, absolutely no one has known that I was wearing a hearing device until I pointed it out. And, even then, it required a concentrated effort to finally see it. It is my thoughtful opinion that the Vivatone is an excellent hearing assistance device from which many people with hearing impairments can benefit.
